New Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise trailer released
June 10th, 2008 @ 15:51
It’s on Gamershell. From the site:
Microsoft Game Studios released a new trailer of Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, a new game for Xbox 360 featuring full cooperative and online gameplay modes. In Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, Professor Pester along with his gang of Ruffians have wiped out Piñata Central’s computer records, which poses a threat to parties everywhere. To help Piñata Central, players must gradually rebuild the computer database by sending piñatas at full candiosity to parties all around the world. While thwarting Professor Pester’s evil plot, players still build and maintain piñata gardens - using their creativity and imagination to attract, trap, protect, train and manage more than 100 different piñata species.
Astonishing. Watch it now.

Advertising the game this time? Unthinkable!
Really looking forward to this.

Why would they? Trying to flog a dead horse it seems….
One day they will ask Rare to do a *real* game one hopes!

Flog a dead horse? VP rocked.
Ahh… you’re one of those troll things aren’t you?

I’m sure VP rocked, I’m talking sales wise.
They are trying to *create* a franchise (i.e. making loads of games based on a concept, a TV series etc..) which never works and isn’t working so far…

I have no love for Party Animals… but VP sold well enough given the total lack of support MS gave it. I’m hoping that the sequel will be a different story.

MS gave no support? They made a bloody TV series based on it!
Plus, I wouldnt say ‘close to half a million’ worldwide is a great sales figure in this day and age would you?

Did I say great? Also… the TV series has nothing to do with advertising the game. Ask Rare how they felt about it, especially when they saw what was done for Gears.

We’ll, it being on TV IS advertising. Its not a ‘buy this game’ but its their product being on TV (why do you think you see spin off games based on a TV series?).
Also, VP (rightly or wrongly) is considering a kids game and you can’t blame people for thinking that.
If your 5 year old watches the cartoon you’re not going to want to play it or you? (if you don’t know nothing about games that is)

Comes down to marketing again. The game was arguably too complicated for kids (should be fixed in VP2 with new play mode) but most adults dismissed it because they didn’t think it was for them.

True…
but I honestly cant see that changing in a 2nd game (but, like I hear the first one was from a lot of places, I bet it will be a really solid game).
