Tales of Vesperia to release on August 7 in Japan, August in US, 2009 in Europe

Microsoft just confirmed that Namco RPG Tales of Vesperia will release in Japan on August 7 for 7,800 yen.
The game will also release in the US in August, and in Europe in 2009.
Also announced is a Japanese Tales of Vesperia bundle, to include the game, a premium Xbox 360 and an unconfirmed bonus item, for 37,800 yen.
Namco producer Yoshito Higuchi gave the details at the Microsoft’s ongoing Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo.

Apparently this counts as a ‘near simultaneous launch’. I think they need to check their calendars, there.

At the risk of sounding churlish, that game looks like any other JRPG ever. I hope I get more excited about it.

Tales is Tales. It’s pure fan-service, except in hi-def this time. I think it looks pretty super, but I’m a freak.

Given the very small number of JRPGs actually making it to this generation I appear to have little choice other than to be mostly cured.
