See it here. As promised, GameTrailers TV’s published a good load of gameplay footage of Insomniac’s Resistance 2, and you’d be hard pressed to say it looks anything other than awesome. Look for yourself.

Does look pretty nice. Maintains the clean and smooth look of Resistance 1 whilst upping the detail nicely.

I have to play the original. I really do need to sort that out.

Looks nothing like the bullshots (as expected) but it does look good.

You have thumbs up from me especially the last part (No vehicles in multiplayer) Thank you there’s one thing I hate in MP and its vehicles

Not underestimating the value of the other elements, but I think that the thing I’m most excited of, currently, about this, is the co-op campaign. Being built from the start, as that insular component, with play and areas constructed specifically to fit the number playing. This looks like an example of co-op play done right. Where the classes matter, and you have to play your particular part in crafting your team’s success story.
So, that and everything else that was shown, frankly; is making Resistance 2 look like a really exciting prospect.

Looking good. I’m particularly impressed by the swarm of enemies which look as though they could really liven up gameplay.

Original is very ‘meh’, Pat. It’s already feels/looks “last-gen”.

Original starts very meh but really kicks in after a couple of levels - Manchester onwards. As for looks, it is clean, crisp and very smooth whilst chucking around a hell of a lot of geometry in the later levels. Puts many recent games to shame. It only lacks in the more flashy effects of recent games. Recent games might look better but very few move as well and I’ll take a consistent frame rate over jerky or tearing fanciness any day.

What shooters are jerky do you think, DrD?

I always thought Duke Nukem was a jerk.

The vast majority don’t hold a consistent frame rate. From the more standard titles like Timeshift, Rainbow Six, Frontlines to bigger hitters BFBC, GRAW and even Halo 3. The ones which do (CoD4) are in the minority.
