CoD5 isn’t going back to World War II, says Treyarch

Put on your thinking caps, boys and girls, because this one’s a doozy. When asked by Joystiq about his firm’s feelings on returning to WWII with Call of Duty: World at War, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia replied that his company isn’t going back at all.

See, when CoD5 was conceived, CoD3 had just been unceremoniously shoved out the door. Therefore, by that logic, “there was no modern warfare,” said Lamia, because CoD4 was still a twinkle in Infinity Ward’s collective brain matter.

Ah, semantics. Don’t you love ‘em?

  1. I’m not sure I’m sharp enough to know what that means.

Care to explain it as you would to a four year old?

    :)

  2. They started working on the fifth game after the third one came out, so the fourth game doesn’t count, is what he’s saying. They’re not going back, because they never went forward.

    See? :)

  3. Ah! Thanks. :)

  4. No, no, no…

    Make them stop!

    Make them stop!

  5. @ pat

That was a bit too ‘Back To The Future 2′ for me, then.
