Here. There’s speculation there that the update’s going to be released over E3. This is what you’re going to get access to in-game:
- Friend category
- View, send, receive messages
- Manage downloads
- Set the vibration feature of the controller
- Sign in to PlayStation Network
- Register friends
- Manage Bluetooth devices
- Terminate the game
- Music category
- Use the system BGM
- Work the system BGM operation panel
- Settings category
- Assign controllers
- View profiles
- Game category
- Set audio devices
- Use the voice changer

I mean have access to friends lists, setting menu etc. whilst watching a film as well as whilst playing a game.

You might want to tell a friend you’re busy, you might want to change from stereo to 5.1, turn upscaling on or off etc.

Ah right, I see.

I’d love that, tbh.

That looks like a pretty good list. By the time Sony release the DS3 bundle in the UK it might actually be up to scratch software wise!

Psycho: is bringing up the XMB doable in both games and BD playback or do they use different code so to speak?

Damn, no “set status” type thing which would be nice.
Set status to “Fuck off I’m busy” while watching Blu Ray porn.

Where do people get all this crap from… if it has 1/2 of the above listed items I’ll be stunned!!!
$CEE wouldn’t be that kind to gamers.

Don’t see what’s so “kind” about it, tbh. They’re all pretty bog standard features that should’ve been there from the off.

I’m hoping this will start to force MS to offer XBL for free.
Not many more excuses now…..
