Blizzard Worldwide Invitational: Live tomorrow at 11.45am CET
June 27th, 2008 @ 16:53

Tomorrow’s a big day. If what happens is what we think is going to happen, Blizzard will announce Diablo III tomorrow morning in Paris. There’s been a lot of talk today that the confirmed game reveal will be a StarCraft MMO, but the truth is that no one outside Blizzard knows, we’re assured. The confirmation won’t come until the announcement’s made.
So. We’re going to get up at 3am tomorrow morning, fly to France and, God willing, we’ll live blog the conference. That’s 11.45am CET, so it’s 10.45am UK time. By hook or by crook we’ll have all the news from the event, so keep a close eye on VG247 tomorrow morning. It could be the game you’ve been dreaming of for the past 10 years.

I’ve already come to terms with the fact it’ll be a bloody subscription-fee MMO announcement.

You’d best get some sleep soon then Pat

Sleep’s for girls, Jamie. I haven’t slept for the past six months, so I don’t see the point is starting now

Stick: Yeah, I wouldn’t be incredibly shocked, tbh.

I would :p, wouldn’t a diablo/starcraft mmo overlap with WoW and only pull numbers from WoW and not get many ‘new’ customers in. Not sure how many would pay for both subs or I may be wrong and there is many people who hate gnomes to death.

Given the game I’ve been dreaming out the past 10 years involves sexy peripherals, it probably won’t be, no.

There are loads of people that won’t play WoW because it’s fantasy, and they won’t play EVE because it’s (far) too hardcore. There’s a bunch of sci-fi MMOs coming up that I doubt Blizzard would be too pleased about seeing them hit a 10 million sub-base, so I could easily be a StarCraft MMO, in my opinion.
That said, everyone I’ve spoken to this week’s said Diablo…

I just wish I was the least bit interested in any of them.

This is the most fired up I’ve been about an announcement, in ages! Great to know that we’ll have virtual seats, for as-it-happens coverage!

Oh come on, it’s Blizzard. Any new game announcement from Blizzard is exciting whether you’re ever going to bother playing it or not.
/will probably never play SCII
Diablo 3 though, wow. I never even finished the first one but I am very excited.
