PS3 sales crash back down in Japan

That really was quick. Hardware sales figures from Japan show PS3’s MGS4 boost was very short-lived. Last week’s figures here. Data for the week ending June 22.

  • PSP - 59,351
  • Wii - 41,037
  • Nintendo DS - 36,599
  • PlayStation 3 - 20,336
  • PlayStation 2 - 6,346
  • Xbox 360 - 2,555

    I utterly ballsed up my prediction for this. I thought it would drop to 45k week two… and even that seemed like a large drop. =(

    How many limited edition gunmetal grey PS3s did they make? I wonder if that counts for most of the blip…

    The 100k figure was all the bundles together… there were far, far less gunmetal PS3s.

  9. 20,000 is still good by PS3’s standards.
