@patlike, according to the article it is for the SCEE region too. Why on earth bring out another PS2 in the region that is holding the ps3 up?

It’s the “Third World ploy” innit. Infest poorer markets with cheaper hardware to prop up the PS3 business. Maybe they think they need a new model to push harder into India.

Is it really necessary for Sony to do this? Surely the existing slimline PSTwo is perfectly fine - I appreciate there’s still a decent market for it, but surely all this money going on redesigning this aged console could be better spent… I dunno, by reducing the cost of the PS3?
