Cliff Bleszinski wants fewer buttons
July 8th, 2008 @ 16:13
Gears of War 2 dev lead Cliff Bleszinski reckons that Xbox 360 controllers look like an alien space craft, CVG reports. Too many buttons, apparently.
“There are other ways of providing interactivity without having every single finger doing something at once on a friggin’ controller,” he said, citing Zak & Wiki and Mario Galaxy as perfect examples.
“I’ve seen some prototype camera stuff which my friends are working on that can actually tell the depth of the world around the player,” continues Cliff. “That’s exciting stuff, and that’s where it all needs to start going towards.”

Bless. Or should that be: Blesz?
In one stroke, Cliff solves all fanboy arguments. Both Wii and 360 are great, but one has too many buttons, while the other has too many rubbish examples of waggle. World saved.
Good old Cliff. He’s gone all sensible now he’s dropped the ‘y B’. I fully expect Gears of War 2 to be even more emotional and moving than Shadow of the Colossus and Lost Odyssey put together now.
