$345 million invested in virtual worlds this year

According to this TechCrunch story, $345 million has been invested in Virtual Worlds so far this year.
While the majority of the money’s gone on social and educational projects, the main game-related investment so far in 2008 has been put into Realtime Worlds and Turbine, at $50 million and $40 million respectively.
