“Max, you’re in a movie!”
“I couldn’t think of anything more horrible.”
Well the style seems right and it has the obligatory Max diving in the air firing a pistol so perhaps this game to movie will actually work. At least his voice is nicely gravelly too.
Presumably the supernatural elements are Valkyr inspired hallucinations rather than anything else?
No idea sorry Blerk, but it wasn’t very demanding on hardware on the PC back in 2001 so hopefully the port wasn’t drastically different. Given that it’s third person I imagine it works well with a controller.
I remember it being a very atmospheric game, and tbh it was the story and the excellent noir-style comic book cut scenes more than the gameplay that held my attention.
Now I’m pissed. Demons? They had WINGS. Max Payne did not have demons. The closest thing in Max Payne to demons was the psychotic guy who had ‘tasted the flesh of fallen angels’. Damn that was creepy/cool.
If they turn this into a demon fighting film I’ll be really pissed. The storyline was great.
Much nicer quality version of the trailer here. I’m really looking forward to this now, hmm time for a reinstall perhaps? Bet it looks rather ropey now!

I wonder if they’ll do the drug induced self-referential bit.

Hey, that actually looked pretty good!
I’ve never played Max Payne. Should I have?

Where’s the hawaiian shirt? Still, looks awesome actually, captures the feel of the games nicely. Hopefully the full thing won’t be a disappointment.
@Blerk: Yes, very good games, particularly the first one.

Is the Xbox version any cop?

Quite amazed that the movie has a similar feel to the game.

Actually… maybe it’ll run on my PC. I didn’t realise it was that old.

Maybe they’re inner demons?

Valkyr made people do some fucked up shit, that’s all you need to know.

I reckon that trailer looks brilliant, personally. Far better than I was expecting.
