5 million pieces of PlayStation hardware sold in the US so far this year

Sony boss Jack Tretton just confirmed that 1.8 million PS3s have been sold this year in the US. The company has sold 1.6 million PSPs, Tretton said, and 1.5 million PS2s have gone through retail.
More than 5 million units pieces of PlayStation family hardware have been sold in the US in first six months of 2008.
