Nelson shows off Netflix working with Xbox Experience

There’s a video after the break, seemingly shot at E3, of Major Nelson showing Netflix working with the Xbox 360 UI revamp, Xbox Experience.
It looks pretty neat, truth be told, with users able to start watching their Netflix movies virtually instantly - why wasn’t this trumpeted in the conference? - and invite Friends to view films as they play.
Great if you’re American, obviously, but there’s no news on anything like this even being planned for European launch.
Watch it anyway. Netflix will be available through the new 360 dashboard this autumn.
The American journos have been really bigging this up. Apparently it’s a huge deal for them. I think I heard someone say there are 8 million Netflix subscribers, 800,000 of whom currently own a 360. That’s a lot of potential new owners.
That’s for when Microsoft gets exclusive content from Vivid and other studios.
As for the Netflix link up it’s not too difficult to tie it into the 360 as they’ve already got an online streaming set up with their own set top boxes.

Yep, it’s everywhere. It does look great. It’s just depressing that there can’t be a unified version for Europe.

Lovefilm, make it happen!

I keep seeing the Netflix logo in the top bar on the front page and thinking it says “NETFUX”.
