WipEout HD delayed for failing epilepsy tests
July 22nd, 2008 @ 20:56
CVG’s reporting that WipEout HD’s been pushed back towards the end of the year for failing epilepsy tests.
Apparently the game “fails the epilepsy tests so much that it has to be re-engineered.”
SCEE boss David Reeves confirmed that game was to be delayed after it failed to turn up at E3.

Really disappointing.
Surely this wouldn’t delay it until the end of the year though..

Pah, that didn’t stop the Extreme-G series on the N64.
On a more serious note:
That’s actually rather bad. I wonder how they haven’t noticed that earlier.

seriously..what sort of epileptics play wipeout anyway its all fast dance music and lines that go whizzing by to make you seem like your going 400 miles an hour, when you’re going 400 miles an hour.

Gekidami: Yes, apparently there /is/ a warning about epilepsy with all games (here), so I wonder what the test is about.

Well that explains a lot! No wonder their engineers were having trouble fixing it.
