Star Trek Online confirmed for consoles

Cryptic just fully confirmed Star Trek Online as a PC and console release. From the game’s now-launched official site:
Powered by the Cryptic Engine, Star Trek Online will be developed for both console and PC formats. With customizable ships and characters from the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets, ground, space and shipboard gameplay and unique options for player-generated content set in the Star Trek universe, Star Trek Online is the MMOG that allows you to boldly go where no one has gone before!
The game’s first screens were also released this morning.

Never been a fan of Star Trek personally, nevertheless I wish Cryptic every success with their game.

Was saying to someone else this morning: can’t see how this is going to fail, assuming the game’s “good”. It’s a Lord of the Rings level license in the sci-fi world.
