Activision sales rocket to $654 million in final un-merged quarter

August 1st, 2008 @ 08:08

The company that managed to dethrone Electronic Arts before merging with Vivendi has gone out with a bang in its last un-merged quarter.

“Activision’s June quarter stand-alone results were the highest ever for a non-holiday quarter, driven by two new Guitar Hero titles - Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: On Tour, Kung Fu Panda and continued sales of our catalogue titles,” said Robert Kotick, Activision CEO.

As befitting of an industry juggernaut, Activision’s total sales were up 32% to $654 million, with profits at $59 million – more than double that of the previous year’s same time period.

Now try adding World of Warcraft subscriptions to that number, and then pick your jaw up off the floor.
