I think that most PC gamers are expecting more and better games. you can’t just take a so so game and paint it with flashy graphics and call it a AAA game. at least not in the PC world. I played GOW PC and I liked it. I thought the game was a solid B. But to put it in the same class as HL2 or COD4 or even BF2 is an injustice to those games. Do people play GOW now about 6months after it’s been released…no. what year was HL2 released and it’s still played a lot. BF2 was released in 04 and there are still 2000 dedicated servers available for it. Im not trashing GOW. It’s good just not that good. I just think the PC platform is for the hardcore gamers and we really like the games of a higher quality. eg. WOW, Bioshock, AOC, oblivion, CSS, and so on.

If you want to be successful on PC’s do what you did when you originally made UT. now that was groundbreaking!!!!

I think it’s purely the console hype also. 360 needed a good game round then.

I remember being somewhat reminiscent of it when I had my PS3 last fall. Nothign to play,a nd trying to justofy the £200 I dropped.

It’s a different scene, they desire a different kind of game. What works on one platform with one audiance, might not work for another.
Sometimes you get some cross over, but not always.

i know why this is - gears pc didn’t even work unless you installed about ten unofficial patches.

Make anti-aliasing work with your engine Epic and I think PC owners might cut you some slack, plus a lot of people had problems with performance too.

i played the tutorial and after fighting with the controls and being generally frustrated i gave up on it

then again i never had much interest in the game when it came out on the 360

I know why this is. But I’ll avoid saying it. So as to not hurt peoples feelings.

EDIT: How much more awesome than Cliffy is this guy? He sounds like he knows what he’s talking about and is rather modest.
