Mail brands MadWorld “most violent ever” game
August 12th, 2008 @ 17:14

The Daily Mail has claimed “parents” are “horrified” by Sega’s MadWorld, saying it “will dramatically transform Wii’s image”.
John Beyer, director of “decency” pressure group Mediawatch-uk, told the paper, “This game sounds very unsavoury.”
We’re assuming this means he hasn’t even seen it.
“I hope the British Board of Film Classification will view this with concern and decide it should not be granted a classification.
“Without that it cannot be marketed in Britain. What the rest of world does is up to them.
“We need to ensure that modern and civilized values take priority rather than killing and maiming people.
“It seems a shame that the game’s manufacturer have decided to exclusively release this game on the Wii.
“I believe it will spoil the family fun image of the Wii.”
Hilarious. More rambling madness through the link.

I’m the polar opposite! I saw the game and thought ( along with everyone else i think ) that this is exactly what the Wii needs to make me buy one. I doubt Ninty will let it get this far then can it would they?
Anyway, Daily Mailol.

Brilliant article. I used to get so angry at sensationalist bollocks like this, but these guys have no idea what they’re talking about, and it’s somewhat amusing now.

Has anyone actually read the full article. It’s one of the most appallingly-written things I’ve ever read. And I’ve read Eurogamer comments threads.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long, to be honest. I’ll be very, very surprised if Mad World actually makes it out over here.
