Report: 4 million Chinese teens addicted to “unhealthy” games and web
August 29th, 2008 @ 20:16
According to this AFP report, more than 4 million Chinese teenagers are addicted to “unhealthy” online games and the internet in general.
Citing the Beijing Times, the piece said the number accounts for around 10 percent of Chinese internet users under the age of 18.
The report’s asking for measures to log players out from MMOs automatically after set periods.
Tons more through there. Thanks, Edge.

Come on come all to my response to this tragic news:
Bollocks. There’s no such thing as an unhealthy game, it doesn’t give you cholestrol, it doesn’t give you heart attacks (unless it’s a really, really good horror game, and then not literally), it can’t stab you in the stomach. It’s the kids that aren’t going outside, the games are just giving them something to do whilst they’re inside.

I think they mean the sort of game you could play for 24 straight hours (and the sort of game many do).
