Microsoft and Square partner for mass TGS showing
October 8th, 2008 @ 07:29

According to this Trendy.net piece, Microsoft is to put out 140 demo pods at Tokyo Game Show this week, and is using the fact its booth is next to Square’s as a “cooperative” effort for both companies.
“We’re going to take advantage of our booths being side-by-side, because both the Square Enix and Microsoft booths are working in tandem,” said Xbox Japan marketing exec Jyoji Sakaguchi.
“This time around, we’re putting the greatest importance in getting the largest number of visitors to play our games. At the Microsoft and the Square Enix booths, we’re holding a lottery. The winner gets to go to the Square Enix booth and play… You’ll have to wait to that day to see what happens.”
We cannot in a million years imagine what surprise Square and Microsoft could have for the Japanese market.
Thanks, Kotaku.

FFXIII wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
FFVII remake on the other hand…

They already said that FFXIII won’t be playable at TGS. The booths will no doubt be Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4, maybe some Infinite Undiscovery.

Maybe they’re releasing a Triple Triad CCG?

I liked Triple Triad. More than FFVIII.

Is Star Ocean 4 Playable at TGS?
Becuase I would say it’s that if it hasn’t been annoucned as playable, or something else. Probabaly FFXIII, on the 360.
I wouldn’t surpised if it was simulatanoesly developed, it’s not like SE not to go back on their word.

Star Ocean 4 is listed as playable, yes.

Probably FFXIII then, nothing else is worth teasing like this.

Given that it’s a Microsoft announcement and the game’s not coming out for the 360 in Japan I somehow doubt that it’s FFXIII.
I think it’ll be something new. That we don’t know about yet. Like the afore-mentioned FFVII remake, for instance.
October 8th, 2008 at 11:36 am
There’s not enough teams to be working on soemthing new and huge… It HAS to be FFXIII.
October 8th, 2008 at 11:41 am
Well, it’s not necessarily huge.
The announcement that FFXIII is coming out in Japan and is already playable on the 360 seems far less likely than a new game.
October 8th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Wow…really!?
I mean I believe it, if you mean another of the budget-looking Square Games. But Not FFVII.

Can you say dada?
Can you say mama?
Can you say Final Fantasy XIII is Going to the Xbox 360 in Japan?
Gooooooooooood baby!

I’ve no idea what it is. It might not even be anything.
But SquareEnix and Microsoft seem to be very cosy bedfellows at the minute. It certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see them announce something else at the show.
