No Halo 3 Recon content available via DLC says Bungie
October 11th, 2008 @ 21:56
This week’s Bungie Weekly Update says that there are “no plans” to release any of the recently announced Halo 3 Recon’s content outside of the box.
From the FAQ:
Will the Recon campaign content or the other multiplayer maps be available through Xbox LIVE Marketplace?
Beyond the Mythic Map Pack early next year, there are no plans to release other portions of the Recon package outside of the retail box.
So the “surprise” that Halo owners will receive certainly isn’t downloadable content from the sound of it.

Sounds like another Clear Sky/Warhead scenario to me.

Not worthy of being a full game, but not really an expansion pack either, I’m guessing he means.
I’m actually a fan of the practice, though. It means quick turnaround time for a new game, with developers able to address player complaints about the first game and basically maximize that game’s potential.
Crysis Warhead, especially, did it well. Same story, same graphical assets, but new levels and A.I. Moar, please.
