EA confirms new Space phase expansion for Spore
October 13th, 2008 @ 17:14

According to this Joystiq report, EA’s confirmed a new Space phase expansion for Spore, to ship next spring.
The new product is in addition to the now-confirmed Creepy & Cute parts pack, releasing in the US in November.
Apparently “players’ space faring creatures will be able to beam down from their spaceships to explore new planets and earn rewards for completing challenging missions” in the Space expansion, and “a new Adventure Creator will allow players to build and share online their own custom missions.”

Sounds abit more interesting, though i dont understand why the space age part had to be so restricted in the first place, why wasnt the idea of building armies on a planet kept? It would be more interesting to conquer planets by sending your own invasion force and controling them in exactly the same way you did in the civilization part.
Spore is a mass of missed opertunities…

I miss the 30 quid I wasted on it.

I too mourn the passing of money from my wallet, it’s the worst game I’ve bought this year.

Eh, I don’t know. With the right mods, it’s fairly enjoyable. And I cracked my copy, so I had none of the bad DRM nonsense either. My copy was as legal as any other, but I don’t see why pirates should have a better experience when I can just as easily download a crack for the game I bought.
So with that mix, I had the best of all Worlds. An enjoyable romp, even through the space stage. But as I said, it was a case of “with the right mods”. I can see this game turning into a bit of an Oblivion, where the experience is fairly shit unless it’s a modded experience.
This new expansion does sound fairly fun though. At least the adventure creator part.

@Esha: No mod can ever fix the horribly retarded gameplay within this game. The only people that would love this game is art students, kids and house wifes.
