Euro Silent Hill slips into 2009
October 13th, 2008 @ 20:39

According to this CVG story, the European version of Silent Hill: Homecoming isn’t coming out till next year.
Konami’s given no reason for the slip, and there’s no new specific date given.
The title’s already out in the US.
Scarier by the second. More through the link.

So it now goes up against Killzone 2, FEAR 2, and Resi 5…good shout Capcom! Then again, it would get battered even more if it were released now, so they’re fucked either way!

Capcom will be having a field day having Res Evil 5 going up against Konami’s Silent Hill.
Now we’ll see who has truly evolved over the last 10 years.
Roll on Res Evil 5.

They’re releasing it after the holiday season? That’s probably a bit of a mistake, unless they’re planning to give it a good few months.
I don’t know how the average gamer does it, but my habits tend to have me hoarding for the dry season to come, like a squirrel seeking nuts, or a burly ursine gathering whatever it is that burly ursines gather. Thus preparing for the hibernation to come.
In Jan/Feb I’ll be nosing around for bargains on any games I might have missed, and after that I’ll likely not be buying anything. But instead I’ll be putting in some really good playing time with all the little gems I hoarded up for that purpose.
If they release it in Jan/Feb (or even just after) with a full-blown price tag then it’s going to probably be something I’m going to wait and pick up on budget or second hand months later.
I wonder if I’m the only one that operates like that though? But that’s probably how everyone does it, and if so…. first quarter 2009 games won’t be the best sellers.
