Ubisoft “getting Altair to swim,” says dev

Speaking with Ausgamers, Prince of Persia animation director David Wilkinson said that Alex Drouin - the animation man for PoP and Assassins Creed - was currently “getting Altair to swim.”
“He’s busy making Altair even more beautiful,” said Wilkinson. “Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim.”
So. Assassins Creed 2, then. Who could’ve guessed that was coming?
Full thing through the link. Thanks, Joystiq.

Maybe they can make a story without having to jump around time.

hey, does Jade Raymond promote this game as well? I can’t wait.

I miss Jade
It’s like she was in the limelight and then just disappeared.
Glad there is a sequel coming, it was a great game with some glaring flaws, with any luck these will be addressed.

I would buy another as quick as that.
The game was superb, even the jumping even the story. Only the interface sucked.
And swimmign and Altair confirmed as the protgaonist!? Win!

You could turn off the interface. I’ve done that after about five minutes and it was a lot better. I even got lost from time to time.
Nice game, a bit repetitive towards the end, but a good game overall.

Yes, Assassin’s Creed was a bit repetitive but nonetheless a great game.
Will definitely buy #2 though.

Assassin’s Creed brought a number of fascinating and in some respects brilliant ideas to the table as far as game mechanics are concerned, so it’s sad that some might remember it for its flaws rather than what it accomplished, and that’s sad, really.
I’ve always felt though that a few cracks never stopped a beautiful vase from being beautiful, mildly flawed perhaps but I’m not the one who could notice the cracks over theh delicate artwork. Or perhaps I simply see the cracks as part of what the vase represents.
So, I appear to be with the general consensus here, and I too will say that Assassin’s Creed was a really very good game. Ingenious even. I want to see more like it. Knowing that a sequel has been green-lighted pleases me greatly.

Only two things wrong with Assassin’s Creed:
1. The first ten minutes of the game were hopelessly off-putting and incredibly badly designed, doing nothing to get you excited about the many great things the game offered.
2. By the time you’ve done the first real assassination, you’ve basically seen every game mechanic Assassin’s Creed has to offer.

I never saw it that way, how many different things is there too GTA 4 ? its an open world with some mini games but mainly its just you some weapons and a load of NPC’s.
Assassins to me is no different great game with great gameplay. Yes the objectives are the same but its not game breaking. How many of the missions in the critically acclaimed GTA 4 seemed the same I’ll tell you 100% of them.
AC is fantastic and I welcome AC 2.

Repetitiveness was my big gripe with the game as well. I’m not sure how they could fix it, the problem was that each instance of a submission felt no different to the previous one, so adding more mission types would just mean a bigger pool of repetitiveness to draw on. They should stick to having more rooftop chases, those bit were ace.
